All modern cars are equipped with fuel injection systems (FIS ) to replace the carburetors. FIS is a combination of different elements that coordinate and work together for optimum engine performance. The failure of a single component can cause a system malfunction and sometimes leads to serious engine problems . This article focuses on the main elements of the FIS and its work processes.

The main components
The electronic control unit ( ECU ): The heart of the fuel injection system . Collect information from other components and see if they work properly. injection

Sensors: There are different types of sensors such as oxygen sensors FIS , coolant temperature sensor sensor air flow sensor , throttle position sensor , engine speed , etc. , which act as the brain ECU.
Information on many factors such as air pressure , air temperature , the angle of the throttle valve , air density , fuel temperature , fuel pressure , oil pressure , coolant temperature , taken up the exhaust gas temperature , the crank angle , time , engine speed , vehicle speed , etc. and the use of the ECU in processing the collected information .

Injectors : the mixture of air and fuel are injected into the cylinders .
Pump: It is the component that transfers the fuel tank to the injectors.
Pressure regulator : Make sure the fuel is constantly supplied to the injectors and the pressure is well maintained.
Train: fuel pump and the fuel injectors are connected.
Filters : They are in the fuel line . Filtered flowing through the fuel   line of the fuel .
Check Engine Light : ECU scans all sensors to verify functionality before starting the engine. The check engine light indicates the progress of the scan . Check Engine Light comes on when the examination is carried out and turns off when the search is complete. It is usually located on the dashboard of the car.
By working the fuel injection system
The main task of a fuel injection system is to provide the proper amount of fuel and air mixture to the nozzle at the right time . This is achieved with the optimum operation of all the above components .
The working process of the whole system can be explained in two steps.
Measure and send the correct amount of fuel to the injector

The first stage fuel injection is to send the right amount of fuel to the injectors . To this end , these components such as the fuel pump , pressure regulator , the channel filter.
ECU, with the help of information provided by the crankshaft position sensor identifies cylinder needs fuel . It then sends this signal to the fuel pump that is in the fuel tank .
Fuel pump collects certain amount of fuel from the tank and sends it to the control pressure when the fuel pressure becomes electrically . Pressure controller also ensures that the fuel is supplied to pressure corresponding to the required fuel injector and not left on the rail.
pressurized fuel then enters the lane, pass through the filters present in the solid and remove all undesirable particles in the fuel. Therefore, the filtered fuel enters the injector .
Injecting the fuel and air mixture in the combustion chamber

fuel injector now contains the right amount of fuel under pressure , but not injected into the combustion chamber until the injector receives the signal from the ECU.
ECU believed suitable for injecting fuel into the combustion chamber , taking into account various factors such as the amount of air time is needed, how the gap is present , the air temperature, fuel temperature , engine temperature , etc. , using sensors and calculates the amount of time that the injection valve should be open ( this time will generally be from a few milliseconds) for spraying mixture of appropriate amounts.
Once the injector receives the signal, the valve opens and sprays the mixture of fuel and air required in the pressure of the combustion chamber .

Engine performance is purely based on the amount of the mixture of fuel and air. Although both the carburetor and the FIS do the same job of feeding the mixture of fuel and air to the engine, the electronics used in FIS constantly calculating and adjusting the resulting proportions by fuel injection control . This not only leads to a higher power, but also increases fuel consumption of the vehicle and reduces toxic emissions.
